摘要: We studied patterns of conifer regeneration over 12 years as part a regional-scale experiment in variable-retention harvest the Pacific Northwest, DEMO Study. compared survival and height growth planted conifers density seral composition natural among treatments with differing retention levels (15% versus 40%) (dispersed aggregated) replicated across range latitudes forest zones. also assessed plot-scale relationships overstory basal area, competing vegetation, slash accumulations. Early (1- to 2-year) seedlings was greater dispersed (Pinus monticola Douglas ex D. Don, Abies spp.) or unaffected by level pattern (Pseudotsuga menziesii (Mirb.) Franco). Later (5- 12-year) did not differ (all species), but distinctly reduced (or) at higher retention. Density 1....
