摘要: Abstract Background Radioprotective garments protect medical radiation workers from exposure to at workplace. However, previous studies have found poor adherence the use of radioprotective garments. Objectives We explored perceptions and practices related among in public hospitals, sought understand reasons for non-adherence. Design setting A qualitative approach was applied by conducting face-to-face in-depth interviews with 18 three university hospitals using a semi-structured interview guide. Results Five themes emerged respect on garments: (i) dilemmas practising protection, (ii) indication workers' credibility, (iii) physical appearance garments, (iv) practicality garment use, (v) impact workflow. Actual lack attributed inadequate number thyroid shield other garments' unsightly including being dirty defective, impracticality some nuclear medicine procedures, disruption workflow because workers’ limited movements, attitudes workers, organisational influences. Conclusion Medical demonstrated definitive practice aprons, but often neglected shields Availability hygiene are reported as core issues, while unclear guidelines practical appear lead confusion workers. To best our knowledge, this is first study its kind middle-income Asian setting.
