摘要: A study was made of the accuracy different methods currently used in assessing transverse diameter abdominal aortic aneurysms. The maximum aorta estimated by clinical palpation, plain radiology, ultrasonography and aortography, a group 47 patients who were subjected to either surgical exploration or elective aneurysm resection. results these estimations compared with actual measurements obtained during procedure. Measurements wall calcification seen on X-ray film correlated best operative findings. However, only 30% patients. Ultrasonography almost universally applicable as technique size found be reliable for measuring diameter.
