摘要: The artificial stabilisation of the flow Vaal River in Vereeniging area has resulted a marginal vegetation fauna which is mixture species typical lotic and lentic waters. In stabilised part (the canal-like zone) faunal associations types habitats sampled were distinctive. amount algae quantity (proportional to speed) water passing down river had marked effects on zone. zone occurrence large numbers individuals Nais sp. was associated with heavy growths not exclusively organic pollution. Organic pollution found Vaal.
