摘要: Background Spinocerebellar ataxia type 2 is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder due to an unstable expansion of CAG repeat in the ATXN2 gene. Although weight loss has been associated with disease progression several conditions, it barely assessed patients spinocerebellar 2. Objective The objective this study was test whether body mass index altered varying sizes from early late stages. Methods A cross-sectional case-control performed, which included 222 clinically and molecularly diagnosed 214 sex- age-matched healthy individuals. genotypes sex were considered as risk factors. Clinical outcomes index, age at onset, duration, Scale for Assessment Rating Ataxia score, stage, dysphagia, rate. Multiple linear regression models generated. Results Body significantly decreased male patients, but not female relative control subjects. In addition sex, onset Conversely, along length expanded alleles score. addition, normal alleles, significant influence on Conclusions might be useful biomarker severity, particularly context nutritional interventions or clinical trials assessing efficacy promising new drugs. © 2021 International Parkinson Movement Disorder Society.
