摘要: Human embryonic stem cells are proliferating, self-renewing that have the great potential of differentiating into diverse cell types in vivo and vitro. Investigations on human allowed us to probe critical early stages development, including mechanisms pluripotency, lineage specification, formation differentiation specific tissue types, underlying molecular genetic mechanisms. In addition three main lineages, can also give rise germ lineage, which produces male or female gametes. With difficulties studying development vivo, provide a unique model window differentiation. Further, as infertility is quite common humans, most often due defects sperm egg quantity quality, recently discovered induced pluripotent might one day clinical applications for treatment reproductive disorders. Thus, revolutionize regenerative medicine numerous cutting-edge investigations techniques underway. This chapter summarizes our current understanding earliest events gamete both vitro requirements this process resolved from animal studies. We review literature and, finally, discuss needed future improvements implications work.
