摘要: A comprehensive analysis of regional near-surface wind speed characteristics is presented based on data from 9 coastal sites, extending over periods 20 to 39 years, with a mean duration 33 years. Six terrestrial sets were obtained the National Climatic Data Center (NCDC), and 3 additional buoy came Buoy (NDBC). contain either sub-hourly or hourly averages near-surface, single height anemometers. Extensive quality checks performed account for anemometer changes, missing data, flagged data. Analyses focus long-term temporal trends. Monthly, seasonal, interannual trends are analyzed utilizing low-order Gaussian moments Ordinary Linear Regression (OLR) technique; autocorrelation accounted statistical herein. Four sites exhibit statistically significant negative trends, 2 show increased no trend observed at sites. Further analyses include calculation 5th, 10th, 25th, 50th, 75th, 90th, 95th percentiles annual speeds in Weibull Probability Density Function (PDF) shape scale parameters that describe form distribution. The spatial variation climatology also investigated. Results indicate marked stilling mean, parameter, 5th percentile values most sites; opposite generally buoys marine Possible attributions source discussed.
