摘要: Excessive amounts of reactive oxygen species (ROS) cause a state oxidative stress, which result in sperm membrane lipid peroxidation, DNA damage and apoptosis, leading to decreased viability motility. Elevated levels ROS are major idiopathic male factor infertility, is an increasingly common problem today. Lycopene, the most potent singlet quencher all carotenoids, possible treatment option for infertility because its antioxidant properties. By reacting with neutralizing free radicals, lycopene could reduce incidence stress thus, lessen that would otherwise be inflicted on spermatozoa. It postulated may have other beneficial effects via nonoxidative mechanisms testis, such as gap junction communication, modulation gene expression, regulation cell cycle immunoenhancement. Various supplementation studies conducted both humans animals shown promising results alleviating infertility-lipid peroxidation were decreased, while count viability, general immunity increased. Improvement these parameters indicates reduction thus spermatozoa less vulnerable damage, increases chances normal fertilizing egg. Human trials reported improvement pregnancy rates 4-8 mg daily 3-12 months. However, further detailed extensive research still required determine dosage usefulness infertility.
