摘要: Since several species of predatory ants show some kind repulsion towards the first-instar larvae (FIL) ofDiaprepes abbreviatus L., behavior ofSolenopsis geminata (F.), a common ant in citrus groves Guadeloupe, was studied. Different extracts were disposed on egg masses ofD. and presented as prey to ants, both field laboratory. The are repelled by FIL extracts. allelochemicals involved produced large amounts, from 5 20 ng per larva. Physiochemical analyses have led identification two sesquiterpenes molecular weight 218 234, secreted respective proportions 65 35%.
