摘要: Columnar and hypertrophic zones of calf scapular cartilage were studied before after extraction with 3 M guanidinium chloride (GuCl) digestion enzymes which degrade various components the extracellular matrix. Morphologic chemical analysis suggests that there are at least two anatomic pools proteoglycan in this tissue. One, resides between collagen fibrils, is extractable GuCl. Another appears attached to by strong bonds apparently not This type collagen-proteoglycan relationship possibly restricted epiphyseal cartilage. The morphology lacuna different columnar zones. Proteoglycans distal zone less resistant GuCl extraction.
