摘要: The Coastal Batholith of south-central Chile between latitudes 33° and 40°S is composed calc-alkaline granitoids emplaced in a relatively restricted time period. New SHRIMP U-Pb zircon ages on eight quartzdioritic to granitic rocks collected over distance 800 km yielded 300 320 Ma, Pennsylvanian (late Carboniferous). Lu-Hf isotopic analyses the same grains have initial eHf(i) values from +1.67 -5.64. δ18O ratios for that range 6.4 8.6‰. These new data point relative homogeneous source with prominent components continental crust. calculated Mesoproterozoic Depleted Mantel model ages, addition short span intrusive give insights position proto-Gondwana margin changing subduction mechanism at end late Paleozoic time.
