摘要: A computerized airflow/air pressure analysis system, the Aerophone II Model 6800 (Kay Elemetrics Corp.), was used to assess effects of age and gender on laryngeal aerodynamics. sample 56 male 53 female normal speaking subjects divided into six groups (20-30; 31-40; 41-50; 51-60; 61-70 71-80 years). The aerodynamic parameters measured included phonatory (mean) flow rate, estimated subglottal pressure, airway resistance, sound level, power, efficiency. Most comfortable phonation, vocal efficiency, running speech tasks were collect data. Comfortable pitch loudness levels for each these tasks. Age found a number rate level values. Results failed, however, indicate or power efficiency parameters. High intersubject variability Estimated values, appeared vary least among subjects. results are discussed with respect factors that might influence aerodynamics, such as underlying anatomical physiological age-related changes gender-related differences. clinical implications findings assessment treatment individuals voice disorders using also discussed.
