摘要: Cell and tissue culture techniques provide valuable tools for investigating cell-to-cell interactions leading to the secretion of connective-tissue degrading enzymes, collagenase proteoglycan-degrading neutral proteases, in inflammatory situations. These interactions, which might constitute a major regulatory mechanism, are reviewed here. Taken together, available data strongly suggest that fibroblasts related mesenchymal cells (such as chondrocytes, fibroblast-like or type B synovial lining cells, corneal stromal etc.) could be main suppliers within tissues. can secrete response factors produced by other mainly macrophages (monocytes, — presumably macrophage-like, A cells), possibly also epithelial cells. Lymphocytes able modulate factor production so that, through macrophage link secretory behavior fibroblastic may under control immune defense system serve an effector reactions connective destruction.
