摘要: The value of genetics in medicine has been steadily developing with our increasing knowledge the human genome. Genetic testing to determine disease risk or potential drug effects is set become more commonplace. With this comes concern about access genetic information, and for discriminatory usage such information. At present, scope predictability conclusions that may be drawn fairly from information are limited. Nonetheless, public concerns discrimination based on possession a trait condition well documented. prospect might used decisions regarding employment insurability caused anxiety prompted legislation largely dedicated use one’s genotype rather than medical general. These laws emphasize as distinct other attempt prioritize interests As distinction between becomes untenable, those who would regulate genotypic will find approach policy problematic. In considering limits an effective tool regulating discrimination, several can drawn: firstly, despite promise genomic medicine, current insufficient justify application certain nonmedical contexts; secondly, resistance fear poses danger justifies response; thirdly, response purely symbolic not entirely effective, provided establishes consensus applicability contexts.
