摘要: On the biology of two high mountain populations stoneflies (Plecoptera, Perlodidae) in southern Iberian Peninsula The life history species Perlodidae stoneflies, Perlodes microcephalus (Pictet, 1833) and Isoperla nevada Aubert, 1952, are studied a stream Sierra Nevada (Granada, Spain). Both show univoltine cycle. nymphal development P. occurs mainly summer autumn, adults emerge at end spring. embryonic period is short, taking only months. I. develops grows during summer, but even shorter. Despite both having relatively similar period, reaches considerably larger size than nevada. taxa behave as predators, exhibits wider prey spectrum. Thus, although more abundant stream, appears to play important role top predator.
