摘要: Abstract Background HIV-1 DNA levels, reported as copies/10 6 peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC), are very predictive of disease progression in seroconverters, independently CD4 + T cell count and HIV-RNA. Previously, HIV-DNA levels have sometimes been by other means: cells, reflecting the proportion infected cells; or copies/mL whole blood, global reservoir size. Objectives We investigated if value over natural course depends on how results reported. Study design Results PBMC were converted to for 422 seroconverters included French SEROCO cohort (ANRS). The three methods reporting yielded different ranges, but these values highly correlated. level during seroconversion period was strongly associated with all methods. Conclusions This reinforces quantification physiopathological therapeutical studies, particularly an era research aimed at diminishing HIV reservoir. Even represents a small part this reservoir, is simple marker that provides informative picture progression.
