摘要: This chapter summarized the pollution of heavy metals in atmospheric and water environment Peninsular Malaysia, potential health risks caused by chronic exposure were assessed. Heavy such as arsenic lead detected suspended particulate matters, sources identified mainly from motor vehicles biomass burning. The widely surface groundwater accumulated coastal areas especially near urban regions due to anthropogenic sources. Furthermore, contaminations naturally deposited former tin mining ponds gold concerned. various freshwater marine species, contamination levels mercury local population indicated at concerned levels. assessment non-cancer consumption fish showed that some could be threatened mercury.
