摘要: The title Schiff base ligand, H2L, and its complex [CuL] have been prepared characterized by elemental analysis i.r. spectroscopy. electrochemical properties of the single crystal [CuL]·0.5C2H4Cl2 investigated cyclic voltammetry (c.v.). Upon scanning at negative positive potentials, two reduction oxidation waves were observed E1/20 = −0.47 −0.77 V 1.10 1.39 V, respectively. Two Kcom values for process are 1.2×105 8.0×104, respectively, indicate that deprotonated L, has ability to stabilize mixed valent states both CuIICuI CuIICuIII. structure solved X-ray diffraction, with a final R 0.0653. Wound around copper atom, effectively tetradentate chain coordinates only via imino phenolate groups ends chain. geometry, D2d symmetry, is best described as trans 'N2O2' square-planar slight tetrahedral distortion. reason, why mononuclear unit can display c.v. in each process, explained on basis configuration interchange between mono- dinuclear units electrolyte solution.
