摘要: Biomass residues from permanent crops might be an alternative fuel for energy generation in a local market with limited transport distances. Moreover, as activities related to CO2 reduction are of special attention the European Union (EU), sustainable use resources plays important role climate change mitigation. In this paper, life-cycle assessment (LCA) integrated value chain peach pruning electricity is presented and compared common practice including mulching process pruned biomass orchard. It was shown that harvesting, chipping its delivery power plant—the Pruning-to-Energy (PtE) scenario—is feasible environmental point view. The total global warming potential (GWP) 200 kg eq.·ha−1 (or 27 eq.·GJ−1). turn, leaving orchard—the pruning-to-soil (PtS) characterized by equivalent 2360 kg·ha−1. Other impact categories showed lower PtE scenario well. When considering Spanish electricity-mix instead coal-based electricity, PtS score better most categories, but GWP remains lower.
