摘要: This paper reports on an in-depth assessment of smallholder livestock production in rainfed agro-pastoral communities Mali through analysis data from 36 case studies. Approximately 1,108 farmers were involved, with two- thirds the studies focusing ruminant and remainder dealing cooperative capacity building. Feeding forage-related needs most frequently assessed involving smallholders raising small ruminants or cattle, whereas organization-related those cooperatives. Meeting feed forage requirements cattle is urgent need for smallholders, but addressing this challenge will be difficult without concurrent control breeding season common diseases as well implementation appropriate methods to track cull unproductive animals. Empowerment grass-roots organizations, particularly women's cooperatives, literacy programmes effective extension outreach could have significant impacts improvement enterprises.
