UNEMPLOYMENT, TRANS-BOUNDARY POLLUTION, AND ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY IN A DUALISTIC ECONOMY

摘要: This study is intended to examine the effects of environmental policies on employment, use polluting goods, and unemployment rate under a model introducing trans-boundary pollution affecting productivity other productive sectors. That was designed by Copeland Taylor (1999), transformed into dualistic economy constructed Harris Todaro (1970). Results our analyses show that enforcement policy through control emissions taxes does not necessarily worsen urban unemployment. Therefore, we it usually proper maintain some cannot be avoided establish economic development. Moreover, analyze effect social welfare discuss effectiveness those policies.
