摘要: An analysis of spirograms 6,486 subjects from the general population, ages 8 to 90, was conducted determine their ability satisfy American Thoracic Society's (ATS) acceptability and reproducibility criteria. The results indicate that both older younger had more difficulty satisfying ATS in criterion, particularly subjects, part associated with smaller heights lung volumes. A relatively uniform within-subject variability FVC FEV1 terms mean differences between largest second FEV1, for all heights, observed. In addition, unlike when a constant 200-ml criterion used, there no longer significant difference number failures 14 different height groups used. These suggest based on percentage may inappropriately classify higher volumes as having nonreproducible test. contrast, larger are much less likely fail requirement. emphasize importance following recommendation using only goal during data collection, not subject an invalid
