摘要: Ardakan is located in Iran's central desert. Cracking has caused significant damage to buildings and arteries this region. Different theories have been associated with the explanation of these cracks, strongest which problematic soils (expansive soils, dispersive collapsible soils). In respect several geotechnical tests performed on five bores up 14 meters depth. To determine swelling potential soil, direct (standard A methods ASTM D4546) indirect (various criteria including Chen, AASHTO, Kaldveer, Vander Merwe free swell test) were used. It was concluded that moderate potential. This feature some cases can cause cracks structures. also dispersion collapse soil are negligible
