摘要: Atypical antipsychotics have been hypothesized to be more effective than classical in the treatment of hostility and aggression, due their characteristic pharmacological profile, involving serotonergic as well dopaminergic systems. In present quantitative review published evidence regarding effects risperidone on aggression schizophrenia is evaluated. Meta-analysis seven controlled trials revealed significant differences between placebo, although effect size was small. Additional analyses which only methodological rigorous studies were included showed highly (risperidone versus antipsychotics) approached 'medium' range. We conclude that superior placebo schizophrenia. Neuropharmacological mechanisms might account for this are discussed, directions future research outlined.
