摘要: Abstract Attempts have been made towards a novel process for the preparation of cellular silica with interconnected cells, tailored porosity and pore size distribution using combination hydrophobized fused powder direct foaming methodology. The has resulted into tiles as large 100 × 100 × 25 mm dimensions. resulting ceramic foams sintered at 1100 °C, consisted highly network spherical cells densities low 10% theoretical. distributions cell found in range 50–250 μm ∼6–16 ppi, respectively. microstructure shown an open average permeability occurring region ∼10 −8 m 2 . creation densified walls tortuous struts between led to comparatively high compressive strength Young's modulus excellent thermal shock properties.
