摘要: It is now more than 100 years since the original proposal that a combination of sunlight and appropriate catalysts could provide both renewable energy means to transform carbon dioxide. almost 50 Calvin introduced concept an artificial leaf. Yet still, there no large-scale industrial process makes economic use split water produce viable fuel on scale worthy major financial investment. Research into fundamental mechanisms applicable continues unabated, making operando techniques, new procedures for atomic layer dispersion maximise rate reaction at discrete catalytic centres. Here, we look developments over last few concerning oxidation, dioxide transformation nitrogen fixation. The emphasis not mechanistic understanding but practical significance, thereby questioning where stand in terms exploiting contemporary research pilot-scale level.
