Vortex Lattice Melting in YBa2Cu4O8 with H∥ab

摘要: We report c-axis resistivity measurements in the mixed state of YBa2Cu4O8 with magnetic field applied parallel to a-, b-, and c-axes. For all orientations field, a “kink” is observed resistive transition, associated first-order melting an anisotropic three-dimensional vortex lattice. Whereas lines for H∥b H∥c obey expected relation H m = H 0(1 − T/T c ) n n 1.5, (T) H∥a follows different temperature dependence lower exponent. This result consistent suppression line due reduction dimensionality this geometry, as normal-state magnetoresistance measurements.
