摘要: In Southeast Asia, the conversion of native forests to oil palm plantations threatens tropical biodiversity, but very little is known about impacts cultivation on small carnivore species. To determine diversity and occupancy carnivores within investigate possible factors that might affect their presence palm, we used camera-traps two in central Sumatra, analysed data using modelling tested whether covariates (distance edge habitat distance from extensive areas lowland forest) affected model parameters for each From 3164 camera-trap days, detected only three carnivores: leopard cat (Prionailurus bengalensis), common civet (Paradoxurus hermaphroditus) Malay (Viverra tangalunga), which indicates there was a low plantations. Both were found deep whereas near one The had high values, values both detection probability. Neither covariate civet, did influence probabilities. decreased with edge, probability by forest. Forests rest/den site availability are suggested be important features palm-dominated landscapes.
