摘要: Sawfish are a group of endangered elasmobranchs that were common in tropical inshore, estuarine and freshwaters. The demography two species sawfish occur the western Atlantic – Pristis pectinata P. perotteti was investigated using age-structured life tables. Life history parameters for use tables obtained from published data. Five scenarios tested to incorporate uncertainties about Values intrinsic rate increase ranged 0.08 0.13 yr−1, population doubling times 5.4 8.5 yrs. Eight perotteti. most likely range 0.05–0.07 with 10.3–13.5 Four investigating sensitivity methods estimating natural mortality produced similar results. demographic results sensitive changes reproductive periodicity mortality. indicate if effective conservation plans can be implemented habitats, recovery levels where there is little risk extinction will take at least several decades.
