摘要: The six papers included in this special section address the diverse challenges of active touch sensing robots, humans, or other animals. Of these, two tactile non-human animals, concern behavior for artificial human hands those robots upper limb prostheses, one paper provides a comparative examination three paradigms with biomimetic whiskers and fingertips, focuses on surface texture humans. Together, these highlight breadth research field, extent cross-disciplinary inquiry that is frequently involved.
