摘要: This chapter proposes a multiple-level, stepwise strategy that links coarse and fine resolution information to balance the need for generality specificity integrated wildlife conservation assessments. By this strategy, local-scale, high-resolution research is interpreted within context of larger scale, multispecies distribution patterns. The framework can be implemented using existing databases, producing time cost savings, while guiding future hypotheses, data collection most appropriate species locations. There are several analytical levels conducting comprehensive population assessment at increasingly finer detail. First, ranges all interest their range overlaps should delineated identify dissimilar distributions. Second, defined or hypothesized—habitat associations gradients whenever possible. Third, these habitat–gradient relationships tested with occurrence surveys; fourth, habitat quality evaluated by abundance estimates its temporal variation in abundance; fifth, refined indirect productivity inferences direct measurements, and/or estimate survivor ship.
