摘要: Two girls, aged 8 months and 3 years respectively, presented with dehydration, vomiting fever. The youngest girl was diagnosed first gastroenteritis treated accordingly. Her condition deteriorated however, she showed symptoms of a high bowel obstruction. Laparotomy revealed perforated inflamed appendix. An intestinal invagination suspected in the older girl, yet laparotomy Appendicitis can be difficult to diagnose very young children due atypical presentation age-related difficulties communication. Most importantly, physicians must aware that appendicitis may also occur children. Although Paediatric Score (PAS) is helpful tool diagnosing children, solid physical examination most important. When doubt, early surgical consultation necessary limit delay diagnosis prevent complications.
