摘要: Objective Patients' expectations for pain relief are associated with patient-reported outcomes after treatment, although this has not been examined in patients adult spinal deformity (ASD). The aim of study was to identify associations between patients' preoperative ASD surgery and at the 2-year follow-up. Methods authors analyzed surgically treated a single institution who completed survey question about back relief. Five ordinal answer choices "I expect my improve" were used categorize as having low or high expectations. Back measured using 10-point numeric rating scale (NRS) Scoliosis Research Society-22r (SRS-22r) patient survey. Preoperative postoperative compared analysis covariance. Results Of 140 eligible follow-up, 105 (77 women) had pre- data on expectations, 85 whom mean age 59 ± 12 years, 46 (44%) undergone previous spine surgery. high-expectations low-expectations groups similar baseline demographic clinical characteristics (p > 0.05), except lower SRS-22r mental health scores those After controlling health, NRS score significantly better (lower) group (3.5 3.5) than (5.4 3.7) = 0.049). (higher) (3.3 1.1) (2.6 0.94) 0.019). Conclusions Despite characteristics, reported less 2 years
