摘要: Single water droplets, 0.23 cm in diameter were suspended at 5.5°C a warm (22°C) nitrogen stream (50 cm/sec) containing various concentrations of SO2 (1000–3000 ppm) and vapor (6.8–16.9 mm Hg). In separate series tests, the was replaced by O2 21–80 percent range. The droplets exposed for fixed time intervals, then removed analyzed total sulfur oxide or content. temperature droplet monitored during exposure time. Water concentration bulk gas phase as well SO2/O2 determined equilibrium saturation transferred to which always less than that thermal equilibrium. rate mass transfer controlled heat droplets. A mechanism is proposed whereby hydrate formation surface explains results observed.
