摘要: Despite considerable interest in the neural basis of valuation, how valuation affects cognitive processing has received relatively less attention. Here, we review evidence from recent behavioral and neuroimaging studies supporting notion that motivation can enhance perceptual executive control processes to achieve more efficient goal-directed behavior. Specifically, context tasks offering monetary gains, improved performance been repeatedly observed conjunction with elevated activations task-relevant perceptual, cognitive, reward-related regions. We address motivation-cognition interactions by suggesting various modes communication between relevant networks: (1) global hub regions may integrate information multiple inputs providing a communicative link specialized networks, (2) point-to-point allow for specific cross-network communication, (3) diffuse neuromodulatory systems relay motivational signals cortex signal processing. Together, these regarding significance reach brain shape
