摘要: Signs of liver malfunction appear in some patients after initiating continuous intravenous infusion a high concentration glucose/amino-acid formulation1. An abnormal histologic picture develops which includes cholestasis and fatty infiltration2,3 associated with measured biochemical abnormalities. Several causes for this pathophysiologic state have been suggested4–7 including lack enteral feeding, plasma amino-acid imbalance, use parenteral lipid, excess dextrose the nutrition formulation, degradation products preservatives solutions used.
