摘要: Motivation: ConSeq is a web server for the identification of biologically important residues in protein sequences. Functionally that take part, e.g. ligand binding and protein--protein interactions, are often evolutionarily conserved most likely to be solvent-accessible, whereas within core probably have an structural role maintaining protein's fold. Thus, estimated evolutionary rates, as well relative solvent accessibility predictions, assigned each amino acid sequence; both subsequently used indicate potential or functional importance. Availability: The available at http://conseq.bioinfo.tau.ac.il/ Supplementary information: methodology, description its performance set five well-documented proteins, comparison other methods, outcome application 111 proteins unknown function, presented http://conseq.bioinfo.tau.ac.il/ under 'OVERVIEW', 'VALIDATION', 'COMPARISON' 'PREDICTIONS', respectively.
