摘要: Coal canals, oil pipelines, and electricity transmission wires transformed the built environment of American mid-Atlantic region between 1820 1930. By transporting coal, oil, electrons cheaply, reliably, in great quantities, these technologies reshaped energy choices available to residents. In particular, created new landscapes: systems transport infrastructure that enabled ever-increasing consumption fossil fuels. Energy Landscapes integrates history technology, environmental history, business provide perspectives on how Americans began use fuels social implications practices.
