摘要: In taking psychophysical measurements of animals, the tester cannot simply tell his subjects what behavior he requires. Nothing is accomplished by saying to a mouse: “Tell me whenever you hear tone.” The must use nonverbal methods teach animal respond test stimuli, and only stimuli. experimenter’s choice indicator response teaching method will, some degree, influence obtained. For example, one may have higher “false alarm” rate than another. A high false alarm will lower threshold measures. It be more difficult train complexity training procedure restrict number animals that can tested in given time. These variables manipulated over wide range experimenter, who choose suit particular purpose.
