摘要: The outbreak of war between Italy and Britain in June 1940 had devastating consequences for Italian immigrant communities Britain, including the internment relocation many nationals. This article explores construction powerful communal myths about within Scottish community looks at how dominance a singular elite narrative has silenced or denied memories different groups community. Through an analysis life story narratives second-generation Italians, this aims to provide alternative perspective, recovering diversity multiplicity wartime experience. It also highlights need address antagonism towards Italians broader context domestic traditions anti-alienism.
