New feature of delayed luminescence: preillumination-induced concavity and convexity in delayed luminescence decay curve in the green alga Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata.

摘要: A new method for measuring delayed luminescence (delayed fluorescence) employs preillumination and a dark waiting period before normal excitation. The results in concavity convexity the decay curve green alga Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata. Formation of is not affected by excitation wavelength (680 nm 700 nm). However, progressively decrease as increases after preillumination. formation was inhibited exposure to electron transport inhibitors DBMIB (644 microg/L, 2.0 microM) Antimycin (55 0.1 microM). Samples exposed exhibited noticeable reduction concavity, whereas samples pronounced convexity. There possibility that disappearance are due reduction-oxidation state plastoquinone pool cyclic transport. We expect this being useful evaluating effects chemicals (particularly toxic chemicals) on photosynthetic reactions, may also help resolve questions regarding source long luminescence.
