Human reactions to low concentrations of volatile organic compounds

摘要: Abstract A group of 62 human subjects were exposed for 2.75 h to a mixture 22 volatile organic compounds known be indoor air pollutants. Three total concentrations 0, 5 and 25 mg/m 3 the same used. The all healthy without asthma, allergy, or chronic bronchitis but claimed often suffer from dry mucous membranes in eyes, nose, upper airways. By using questionnaire on 26 different quality aspects, significant effect exposure was found questions related general quality, odour, ability concentrate, and/or membrane irritation. Continuous evaluation irritation throat showed correlation both at . acute no signs adaptation. digit span performance test decreased scores during exposure.
