摘要: A novel planar octagonal-shaped antenna with reduced radar cross section (RCS) for ultra-wideband (UWB) applications is designed and demonstrated experimentally. The proposed modified using the geometrical shaping method in order to get RCS reduction. This based on subtraction of metal areas which have minimum current distributions surface printed antenna. Both reference antennas are operating at 2.5–18 GHz frequency range %151 fractional bandwidths. full-wave electromagnetic simulations laboratory measurements performed characterize their RCSs as a function frequency, radiation patterns scattering characteristics. performance stable consistent Also results show that UWB has lower compared About 10 dBsm reduction obtained whole operation bandwidth. very large up 25 dBsm, especially low range.
