摘要: This paper empirically investigates how competitive forces have affected bed capacity in the California hospital services industry using a data set for late 1990s. The empirical results offer several conclusions about effect of different types competition on during period characterized by heightened price consciousness. In contrast to earlier periods, hospitals are found continuously react increased inter-hospital reducing supply beds relative patient demand. Similar suggest that physician/supplier leads reduction capacity. Finally and studies, findings indicate payer competition, as measured percentage managed care patients market area, causes less up point.
