Health Promoting Behaviors in a Population-based Sample of Middle-aged Women and its Relevant Factors in Yazd, Iran.

摘要: Objectives: This study is carried out with the aim of describing pattern health-promoting behaviors (HPBs) among middle-aged women and its relevant factors in Iran as a Muslim developing country. Methods: In cross-sectional study, 483 were selected using cluster random sampling from Yazd city Central Iran. An adjusted Persian version Health Promoting Lifestyle Profile II was used for measuring HPBs. The demographic data collected too. Results: average score HPBs 2.73 ± 0.36 (2.69 2.76, %95). Spiritual growth physical activity had highest lowest HPBs' dimensions, respectively. positive significant correlation age (p=0.02) education level (p=0.001) negative number children (p=0.005). higher retired than employees housewives. Conclusions: spite desirable spiritual interpersonal relationship dimensions this group, their health responsibility undesirable. It means that feature Iranian middleaged country different industrialized developed also non-Muslim countries; hence, they need intervention programs.
