Working With Expedient Lithic Technologies in the Northern Highlands of Peru

摘要: Archaeologists frequently overlook the lithic technologies of complex societies, in part because these are often very informal and expedient. Lithic assemblages from Andean societies show that chipped tools were used extensively throughout pre-Hispanic Andes, although few studies have focused on artifacts. In this paper, I explore ways we can derive social information their waste cores debitage. do by analyzing artifacts excavated four sites associated with Oracle Catequil, a major ceremonial center northern highlands Peru was use ca. 400-1555 C.E..
