摘要: Introduction: Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients who have active disease with longer duration been reported to increased risk of cardiovascular events compared the normal population. Objective: The primary aim our study is ascertain prevalence significant asymptomatic coronary artery (CAD) in Asian RA are remission using multi-detector computed tomography (MDCT). secondary aims usage pulse wave velocity and biomarkers N-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) high-senstivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) detect subclinical atherosclerosis patients. Methods: We performed a comparative cross-sectional 47 were control group non-RA history atypical chest pain Sarawak General Hospital from November 2008 February 2009. All underwent 64-slice MDCT, assessment arterial stiffness SphygmoCor test blood analysis for NT-proBNP hsCRP. Results: There 94 mean age 50 ± 8.8 years. each matched terms traditional CV factors. Our had median 3 years (IQR 5.5). MDCT showed evidence CAD nine (19.1%) three (6.4%) (P = 0.06). was no association between (PWV) presence group. correlation PWV levels proBNP or hsCRP patients. Conclusions: In current pilot limitation small sample size, not associated an remission. Larger studies needed confirm finding.
