摘要: Abstract This chapter provides an introduction to the Framingham Heart Study and genetic research related cardiovascular diseases conducted in this unique population. It briefly describes origins of study, risk factors that contribute heart disease, approaches taken discover basis some these factors. The architecture several biological has been explained using family studies, segregation analysis, heritability, phenotypic correlations. Many quantitative trait loci underlying have discovered different molecular markers. Additionally, initial results from genome‐wide association studies 116,000 markers prospects 550,000 for are presented. Finally, use sample study genotype environment interactions is described.
