摘要: Epileptic encephalopathies are severe pediatric syndromes in which aggressive epileptiform discharges and seizures thought to lead profound cognitive impairments due delay or failure of developmental skills emerge, arrest early normal development resulting a plateau, regression deterioration previously acquired skills. Children with epileptic encephalopathy usually have combination seizure onset, sometimes as infancy pathology, chronicity, multiple types, including but not limited status events frequent abnormal interictal patterns, requiring antiepileptic drugs polypharmacy, making these some the most challenging epilepsy cases poor behavioral prognosis. We describe prognostic indicators for comorbidity childhood epilepsy. The main focus paper is provide an overview several by summarizing their clinical features, providing updates on recent advances imaging genetics, discussing neurodevelopmental outcomes respect various treatment modalities, surgery.
