Avulsion fracture of the calcaneus at the origin of the abductor hallucis muscle.

摘要: Previously reported avulsion fractures of the calcaneus have been confined to attachment tendo achillis, bifurcate ligament, extensor digitorum brevis muscle, or plantar fascia. A case report a previously undescribed fracture due abductor hallucis muscle is presented. The mechanism injury, forced dorsiflexion forefoot, described. diagnostic and treatment regimen provided. With appropriate identification this unusual calcaneal can be adequately managed.
